Of course you love your wedding guests, but there are some things they should never do.
Don't show up with a date that was not invited. If the invitation did not include a plus one or an extra guest, then do not bring one! It's always best to play it safe and assume that it is an invitation for one unless it is otherwise noted.
While this one should be obvious, don't be the guest that drinks too much at the reception. Remember, this is a celebration for the people you love, NOT a frat party. At the end of the day, know your limits and don't make a fool out of yourself.
This may seem funny, but you wouldn't believe how often it happens. Do not stick your fingers in the wedding cake! Unfortunately, guests actually do this. Yuck! Not only is it unsanitary, but the bride and groom have spent a lot of money on this cake. Be respectful.
Don't use the wedding as an excuse to hookup. While it's true that weddings are a great place to meet other singles, this is a wedding, not a club. Refrain from making out with someone you just met on the dance floor. If you're attracted to someone, get a phone number and hook up later.
Please don't let your kids run wild. We've all been to a wedding like this. Screaming kids taking over the dance floor, a baby screaming during the vows, or a toddler throwing a fit. Be on the safe side and confirm childcare at the reception or leave them at home for the evening.
While it might seem like a good time, do not tell the DJ to change the music. When its your wedding, you get to choose the music that is played. Until then, sit back and enjoy the music that the bride and groom have chosen specifically for their special day.
Last but certainly not least, please don't hit on the waitstaff. Don't be the rowdy guest that tries to get the waitstaff to dance with you all night. It's not helpful for anyone, and these people are trying to do their jobs.
Happy Wedding Planning!
